This illustrates
how access to a site can be restricted
to those with a Userid and Password. This is done under the
control of the ASP programmer rather than the Server Administrator,
although it does not preclude also using Server security.
It can easily be
expanded beyond protecting a single site, with different
ID/Password combinations granting
access to different parts of a website or different websites entirely.
